Analysis of Ethical Values From The Story of Abraham Prophet (Islamic Story)


1.      They bowed and started to cry, begging and imploring their gods for help. (Pr.10-Page 1)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to God. It talks about the worship from people to their god. Bowing, crying, begging, and imploring are as the symbol of pray to god.

2.      Abraham addressed his people who worshipped celestial bodies. (Pr.2-Page 2)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to people. A prophet has the duty to call the people in worshipping the only Allah. Abraham addressed the people to worship in ALLAH as the symbol of his help and love. He cared about the people’s life.

3.      Abraham felt that it was his duty as a good son to advise his father against this evil so that he could be saved from Allah's punishment. (Pr.3-Page 3)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to people. As the son or daughter, we have duty to remind our parent when they do something that is not in ALLAH’s way. In this case, Abraham still care and love of his father, and he want to save his father from Allah’s punishment, though his father against Abraham.

4.      He told him that he loved him,… (Pr.4-Page 3)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to people. We should still love our parent though they against and hate us. Beside, as a Muslim we should keep the relationship among the human (hablum minannas)  

5.      His father's harsh treatment did not stop Abraham from delivering the message of truth. (Pr.6-Page 3)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to our self. As what Abraham did,   we should always in courage and confidence to deliver or do something good in Allah’s way. We should not stop because of being afraid to other people. 


6.      He explained to them the beauty of Allah's creation, His power and wisdom. (Pr.5-Page 4)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to God. As the religious human, it is needed for us to praise our god. Explain the beauty, power, and wisdom of Allah is one of the ways to praise the greatness of Allah.

7.      The angel Gabriel came near Abraham's head and asked him: "O Abraham do you wish for anything?" Abraham replied: "Nothing from you." (Pr.7-Page 5)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to our self. A high confidence should be put in our heart when we believe in Allah’s help. When we believe in Allah, so we believe to our self that we will be fine.

8.      He glorified and praised Allah the Almighty, with a heart that contained only his love for Allah. (Pr.9-Page 5)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to God. Glorified, praised, and filled our heart with love to Allah is the symbol of our worship. We believe in Allah’s power, and the true love is the love to Allah.

9.      …..exerting a great effort to guide his people to the right path. He tried every means to convince them. However in spite of his love and care for his people, they felt angry and deserted him. (Pr.4-Page 6)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to people. We should be always a helpful human. It means we always help the other by loving and caring the people around us, though sometimes they reject our help or hate us.

10.  Sarah thought she and Abraham were lonely because she could not have a child. Therefore, she offered her husband and her servant Hajar in marriage. (Pr.1-Page 7)
Ø  This sentence consists ethical value which ethics to people and our self. Sarah asked Abraham to married with Hajar as the symbol of her love to her husband. A good wife always does and gives the best to her husband for creating a happy family. The ethic to our self has been showed by Sarah’s patient in offering her husband to married with Hajar.
